My MAC Halloween Day Haul

I’m oiling like an oil rigg these days so I had enough and decided to hit up the MAC store to finally try out MAC Blot pressed powder in Dark.  I really like it.  Anything is better than using a paper towel (pressing it over my face removes my makeup) or several blot sheets  (which gets expensive).  I really should try the loose powder instead because I think I’d like it better, but for portability reasons and to not mess up my purses by mistake, I went for the pressed powder.  I am not using the powder puff it came with because I can imagine it getting really dirty and oily and just plain nasty.  Gross.   Price: $21.00

I also picked up a mineralized eye shadow from the Style Black collection, which I said I wasn’t going to bother with but when I saw Gilt By Association I had to have it.  I thought I would have gone for Blue Flame because I love all MAC blue colors on me.  I am not a purply girl, but I will wear purple so I skipped Young Punk.  I think I may go back and get Cinderfella because it’s so me.  Gilt By Association just looks the best out of the four to me.  Price: $19.50

Lastly, I picked up two permanent eyeshadows.  The first one I picked up was MAC Plumage which is a dark blue whale type of color – that’s the best way I know to describe it.  Moby Dick like.  It is a matte color and it went well in my crease when I paired it up with MAC Silverthorn (LE) on my lid.

I also picked up the ever lovely MAC Antiqued which is a burnt orangey color…it is a great jewel tone for sure.  It is a veluxe pearl which means it’s easy to work with and it has some shimmer in it.  I love this color for when I want to tone it down, like today.  It was a rainy mess outside so instead of coming home looking like a racoon from the usual flashy colors I wear, I decided to bust out some MAC Antiqued, MAC Patina and MAC Dark Edge (LE) as a “Fall Seasony” look today.  Price:  $11.oo each (pan)

New MAC Custom Palette Shopping Feature

MAC Cosmetics has put up a new shopping feature on their website where you can pick and choose eyeshadows and a palette.  You can click and drag the eyeshadows of your choice and drop them into the palette.  This is a very cool feature because you can get to see how your actual palette could look like all together on one screen before you order it.

I am not sure when MAC put this on their site because I didn’t notice it yesterday (I practically live on the site).  A girl over at Specktra posted about it so I just hopped on the site to take a look see.  I only own some pre-made quads and no custom palettes yet so I put one together on the site and came up with this (see image below).

I only own three single eyeshadows from MAC and only two can be depotted as I will keep my Haunting in it’s Alexander McQueen packaging.  So, the only colors I’d omit from my custom palette would be Gorgeous Gold (I have this one) and Silver Ring (because I have Silverthorn).

The palette is priced at $177 dollars of course ($11 each for the shadows and $12 for the 15 pan palette).  So my starter custom MAC palette looks good, huh?  When will I be able to actually order it???  Not too sure, but I’ve got it saved in picture form which is easier to look at than my Excel spreadsheet cells.  Thank you MAC for making choosing eyeshadows easier!!!!!

OK so this is my last haul before MAC Black…really.

So, the day after I said that my next haul will be from the MAC Black collection I ended up back at the CCO…not my CCO, but the one in Tannersville, PA and I must say that I was sorely disappointed in it.  They are definitely MAC challenged and deprived.  The selection was very limited, but of course I found things to buy.  They had no MAC Matte…and I really need that!  Bleh!  They had more pigments than my CCO though.  They had Cocomotion which I thought was neat.  MSFs were limited.  All that could be found were the natural/shimmer ones  I was not happy at all.

Anyways, to make myself feel better about going on that long trip (1 hour and 35 minutes) to Tannersville I purchased these items:

Shadowy Lady Quad
Tempting Quad
Silverthorn e/s
Haunting e/s (Alexander McQueen packaging)
219 brush

I originally had two lipglasses in my hands, but I put those back for the 219. I think I had a lipglass from the Blonde Brunette Redhead collection and a lipglass from the Heatherette collection. I’m not a big fan of MAC lipglasses so it wasn’t hard to make that swap.

Hubby put his foot down and went Principal on me and said “No More!” So it’s no more until the MAC Black collection or maybe even Dsquared. Eeeeek! And on a happier note…here are pictures of my haul!
