Chanel Ombres A Paupieres Quatuor Quadra Eye Shadow

Ombres A Paupieres Quatuor Quadra Eye Shadow – 19 Enigma – Made in France

a.k.a

Chanel Enigma Eye Shadow Quad

My very first ever Chanel quad and I love love love it. I’m rocking it today at work. Great for the evenings, but can be rocked during the day and I know that because I’m rocking it at work. I’m wearing the bottom two eyeshadows on my lid and lower lash line and the top-left lighter color in my tear duct and as my brow highlight. I applied it effortlessly, blends like a dream. The shadows are soft, pigmented and are very unique…not too much shimmer, but just enough that you can see it on the eyes. 100%…Pure Love!

I need to confess something and get it off of my chest because I feel so guilty (not that I’m going to do it) so I’m going to do it right now. What’s bad about this whole Chanel situation is that I am having thoughts about returning all of my MAC Fabulous Felines haulage and taking the money to get another Chanel quad and that Chanel nail polish in Paradoxal. *runs for cover* MAC is mad at me right now. Believe me, they are mad because I spends A LOT of change on MAC when their collections come out. *hiding*

…moving on…you all know this palette (should know about this quad by now) so here are pictures of my quad. Price: $56.00 and it’s worth it!

The “Day Before MAC Fabulous Felines Collection Launch” Haul

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Pathetic, right?  I tried to go to MAC to see if I could get a peek of the new Fabulous Felines collection (8/25/10) and I was turned away.  None of my boys were  there at day or else I would have gotten to see and swatch everything.  Whatever!  So today (8/26/10) I’m going to go after work, but yesterday to make myself feel better, I did another little beauty haul and got some of the stuff that actually on my wants list this time around.  Here goes…

From Last Week’s Sephora Haul

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

While waiting for the Cheesecake Factory to open last week, we ended up taking a stroll through the mall it’s located in to kill some time. We ended up killing 1.5 hours of time. We hit the Disney Store (my favorite store ever), the MAC store and then we ended up at…Sephora.

OK so I didn’t need anything from Sephora, but I always come out with at least one thing. Here is what I picked up:

1.   Sephora by OPI nail polishes – This is my favorite brand for nail polish and I got them in the colors Domestic Goddess (a dark magenta purple color and I love this color) and Call Your Mother (a somewhat gray, but lilacy color that goes on semi shiney and looks flat).  $9.00 each

2. a pack of OLEHENRIKSEN makeup wipes – I paid $15.00 for 30 – the sales rep said it’s a new brand they just brought in and I get my first Sephora skincare point if I buy it (if you buy 4 or 5 – I can’t remember right now – of any full sized skincare product you get the 5 or 6 full size for free) . These wipes smell like orange cremesicles literally. They are nothing special. When I use them they feel scratchy, but then again my face is sensitive because I am under a Dermatologists care at the moment. My dollar makeup wipes (30 pack as well) from Odd Lots works for me better than these in my case. These wipes do not clean any better than my dollar wipes – it’s basically the same.  Also, these wipes are not as moist as MAC wipes or Neutrogena wipes.  I will be returning these wipes.

3.  Sephora nail file – I like this file a lot.  I think it is made out of what seems to be glass which is sanded down so it doesn’t poke or cut anything.  I had never seen one like it until I bought it, went to Target and saw that Revlon has one too!  LOL!  Both files cost $6.00.  The difference between the two is that with the Revlon one you can use both sides to file whereas with the Sephora one you can  only use one side (the other side is not textured).  I opted to keep the Sephora file because it has the name “SEPHORA” on it.

L’Oreal The Color of Hope Lipstick

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

This is a very sheer, but pretty coral color lipstick that I absolutely adore. I’ve been rocking it with my neutral looks all week. It gives a hint of color on the lips with little shimmer in it – goes on like a glaze so it’s not overly pigmented and bam in somebody’s face like some other L’Oreal lipsticks I own. This color goes with any skin tone, in my opinion, because it’s so light and not bright. If you can find this lipstick, get it! I got mine from Walgreens and it was on sale along with the other lipsticks for $5.00 at the time I purchased it. Great for Spring and Summer.

Side Note: I don’t know if this lippie is limited edition and I don’t know the story behind the message “The Color of Hope”…shame on me for not researching. The packaging is different (lovely) from the permanent L’Oreal lipsticks so it just may be.  You will not be able to find this in the L’Oreal section…take a look at the special display setup sections in the beauty aisle to find this lipstick.

My Chanel Nail Polishes Came In!

Friday, August 20th, 2010

I think I went too far. I paid a ridiculous amount of money for these two fabulous Chanel nail polishes and why do I not regret it?? I love them and will be keeping them and I am so happy to have them…beautiful colors. With my purchase I was able to choose two, free samples which are a fragrance called Cristalle by Chanel and Mousse Confort Rich Foaming Cream Cleanser.  I hope I don’t like any of these because I don’t want to pay the prices for them!!!!  Ha!

I immediately rocked Particuliere the first day I received the polishes and figured that it was best I wear it in the Fall since the color is more in the brown family and not so much in the brown gray family – not summery of a color at all. I have no other colors like it so that’s awesome!

On the other hand, Nouvelle Vague looks like some other colors I have mermaid blue/green ???. The next two colors I’m getting will be Vamp and the overly hyped up Paradoxal. Here are the pictures of my new nail polish additions below…Price: $23.00 each

Haul from Stila’s 50-75% Off Warehouse Sale

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

A long time ago I remember buying that Sephora 10th Anniversary can thingy that contained Stila products that did not match my skin tone (I didn’t know that back then) and I immediately hated it.  I had gotten that Convertible compact (too light), a mascara (just didn’t like) and a lipgloss (hate the brush applicator so I tossed the whole thing).  I never used the compact, but I did use up the mascara.  I still have my kajal pencil in Onyx which I love love love and that was all I loved about the kit.

Since then, I haven’t been interested in Stila at all except for their kajal liners.  I had only bought the kajal pencil in Topaz since then and that’s it.  Sad, right?  Well, I wasn’t feeling Stila like that.  *shrugz*

Stila had come out with that Barbie collection and when I saw that black Barbie with an afro I wanted that kit so bad.  I didn’t want to spend the money on it because I didn’t want the lip glaze or the mascara.  I just wanted the eyeshadows and the blush…with the can of course.  Love the can!

How did I end up with this kit?  Well, Stila had their Warehouse Sale two weeks ago 50-75% off. I took a look at the inventory on their website and saw that this kit was  more than half off so I purchased it right away.  I purchased it along with some other items like the smudge potsboth more than half off.  I got one in Pomegranate and one in  Purple Pumps.   Another thing I really wanted for a long while, but I wasn’t trying to pay full price for since I have a lot of MSFs, was that Illuminating Finishing Powder in Bronze and that was half off so I purchased that too and got more than half off.

Here is the Barbie Loves Stila Foxy Doll set…that came with a Stila can (which I love and it comes with a little doll bio book which is too cute- I have 2 now), a Lash Visor Waterproof Mascara in black (I think – haven’t tried it yet and won’t for a while because I have too many mascaras to try out), a Lip Glaze in Foxy (looks good, nice color and consistency, but I still hate the brush applicator – makes a mess if you’re not careful), and a trio palette with Foxy Barbie Doll on the cover that protects two eyeshadows (one is pearly white shimmery color and the other reminds me of a less shimmery MAC Patena) and a blush that looks like the color of  my Pomegranate smudge pot.  Retail Price: $40.00,  Sale Price: $18.00
