I figured I was in need of more NARS and since I love NARS blushes I decided to pick one up. I swung by Sephora in my favorite mall (Willowbrook Mall in Jersey) and decided on Taos. Taos had been on my list for a long while after I got Love Joy so I went for it. Taos reminds me of Love Joy, but it has a brick red color in it with flects of gold glitter which is what I love about NARS - I love the shimmer and the pow of their colors. Both blushes are different, but remind me of each other. I was happy I made the choice to get it because it is beautiful on me and it shows up very well. Price: $25.00
I also picked up a NARS eyeshadow. Yay! It is my very first NARS eyeshadow and that’s because I am a MAC eyeshadow hoarder. I had seen this shadow time and time again and have swatched it time and time again, but never bought into it. I know people rave about this shadow a lot so I decided to get it. This color is goregous. It is a deep brown color with flect of gold glitter in it. I wore it today and it came up on me so beautiful!!! I paired it with Glamour Check! by MAC — GORGEOUS! The eyeshadow I’m talking about is Galapagos! Price: $22.00
I did not wait in traffic for 3 hours to go to Tannersville, PA Tanger Outlets this past weekend in the pouring rain, sleet and cold to hit up the CCO, but I did anyway (I really went to cash in on my 20% Coach Factory Store offer I got in the mail - I’ll post that lovely haul tomorrow). I will say again how much I dislike this CCO. They have a nicer selection of MAC eyeshadows than my CCO (Jersey Shore), but that’s about it. I didn’t particularly care for the staff here either (the younger girls that helped me in the past were better than this set I had to deal with but that’s another story). They are lacking in MAC products like it’s nobody’s business, but I am over it.
Anyhoooo! I picked up three MAC eyeshadows ($10.25 each) and a MAC brush ($17.50).
From left to right…MAC Top Hat (a true purple color), Glamour Check! (a shimmery reddish-brown color) and Brown Script (a matte tannish brow). Brush: MAC 239

Temptalia.com has reported yesterday that Sephora is having their Friends & Family Sale! Get 20% off of most brands of cosmetics, skincare, fragrances and accessories. Yay!
I’m currently going over my list again to prioritize. I have some new things I want to try out so getting a discount on some of them will be nice! Cargo, Benefit and Givenchy are all definitely up high on my list this year.
The sale starts on October 19, 2009 and ends on November 2, 2009! The coupon code to use is FF2009 at checkout.
That’s what I get for not keeping up with my beauty blog updates…eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! Shades of U is doing a MAC makeup giveaway and in order to be entered, I had to tell her how I was subscribed to her blog (by e-mail, of course) and I had to link to her contest so here is the link. What a great way to get backlinks to your site. I need to do one of these “viral contests”. Ha!

MAC Cosmetics has put up a new shopping feature on their website where you can pick and choose eyeshadows and a palette. You can click and drag the eyeshadows of your choice and drop them into the palette. This is a very cool feature because you can get to see how your actual palette could look like all together on one screen before you order it.
I am not sure when MAC put this on their site because I didn’t notice it yesterday (I practically live on the site). A girl over at Specktra posted about it so I just hopped on the site to take a look see. I only own some pre-made quads and no custom palettes yet so I put one together on the site and came up with this (see image below).
I only own three single eyeshadows from MAC and only two can be depotted as I will keep my Haunting in it’s Alexander McQueen packaging. So, the only colors I’d omit from my custom palette would be Gorgeous Gold (I have this one) and Silver Ring (because I have Silverthorn).
The palette is priced at $177 dollars of course ($11 each for the shadows and $12 for the 15 pan palette). So my starter custom MAC palette looks good, huh? When will I be able to actually order it??? Not too sure, but I’ve got it saved in picture form which is easier to look at than my Excel spreadsheet cells. Thank you MAC for making choosing eyeshadows easier!!!!!
Please excuse my eyebrows as we are going through a little something evil at this time.
And yes, I know, I matched up my eye look with my shirt but I think I did a good job smoking it out good enough so that it’s not too noticeable.
But I do notice that the more I lose weight the bigger my nose gets!!!! Ha! I’d rather be skinny though.
Is this eye look is too much for a professional workplace? Probably…oh well! Here is my face of the day!

Maybelline New York came out with a new line of lipsticks in 48 different shades, called Colorsensational, which fall in the color ranges of pinks, reds, naturals and plums. Here are some images I cropped from there interactive site. I hope it’s OK to use.
On the interactive site, you choose your poison, in this case, you choose your shade. After that you choose your skin tone and then you describe your tastes by the items they have you pick from. There is a rose, a black dress, stilettos, sunglasses and other objects (I can’t remember them all). This just basically narrows down the lipstick shades so there is less to choose from because there are so many shades to choose from.
I think that Coco Chanel (R.I.P. Diva), Karl Lagerfeld, the House of Chanel and all of the Chanel people are BRILLIANT, but why am I just getting an email TODAY about a Chanel event that is happening TODAY. Grrrrrrrrrrr! I could have gotten my custom, classic Chanel handbag if I was alerted about this at least yesterday…OMG! I’m at work today and I can’t possibly go to NYC today for this event *crying inside*. This totally blows! How could my favorite House do this to me?? I am not happy. So not happy.
Anyway, this is what they sent me and millions via email today (Sent: Thu 9/10/09 6:10 AM) . Gosh darn! Pooh!
Pre-orders for this collection started on 9/7/09 and the release date for sometime this Fall. I don’t know. I should have checked, but anyhow, I can’t afford it. What I would like to get from this collection is the Liquid Metal shadow though - I love the texture and how this product goes on my skin - lovely. I have yet to get the two Liquid Metal shadows from the Sirens collection, but I will get them.
I watched a few gurus on YouTube do some Dystopia and Dystopia-type tutorials and although most are not wearable in daily, regular life…I found them interesting anyway (of course). The best tutorial was made by Sam from Pixiwoo (love both Sam and Nicola equally - subscribe to them). Sweet!
I wanted to post these promo images of the new products from the Dystopia collection from the Illamasqua site onto my blog because I love how their product images are photographed/enhanced and I love their whole message to tell you the truth…”makeup for your alter ego”. It truly is. Love love love…*singing*
