The Makeup Part of My Tannersville Outlet Haul

Posted by: Sass  :  Category: Beauty Supply, CCO, Eyeshadow, MAC, Makeup Hauls, Makeup News, Swatches

I did not wait in traffic for 3 hours to go to Tannersville, PA Tanger Outlets this past weekend in the pouring rain, sleet and cold to hit up the CCO, but I did anyway (I really went to cash in on my 20% Coach Factory Store offer I got in the mail - I’ll post that lovely haul tomorrow).  I will say again how much I dislike this CCO.  They have a nicer selection of MAC eyeshadows than my CCO (Jersey Shore), but that’s about it.  I didn’t particularly care for the staff here either (the younger girls that helped me in the past were better than this set I had to deal with but that’s another story).  They are lacking in MAC products like it’s nobody’s business, but I am over it.

Anyhoooo!  I picked up three MAC eyeshadows ($10.25 each) and a MAC brush ($17.50).

My First Ulta Haul

Posted by: Sass  :  Category: Beauty Supply, Makeup Hauls

My best friend and I went on our first visit to Ulta today in Holmdel, NJ (great city by the way) and we thought the place was awesome.  As we walked through the front door we noticed that the cosmetics aisles were located on the left and the fragrances were located on the right.  We headed straight for the cosmetics aisles of course. My best friend said that Ulta reminds her of Sephora, but I don’t think so.  Ulta is so much bigger and they carry a wide range of cosmetic lines from high to low and lots of fragrances, skincare and hair care products…A LOT!

We walked around every aisle that held high-end cosmetics and swatched products here and there.  We then watched a MA make up a customer with Urban Decay cosmetics.  The lady’s face came out really cute.

After our little tour of high-end cosmetics was over we went looking for NYX cosmetics.  We both have been wanting that NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk and we were able to snag a couple.  We’ve been wanting this pencil for a long time and could never find it at our fragrance outlet store or anywhere else for that matter - I cannot wait to try them.   I also picked up a dark brown jumbo eye pencil as well and when I got it home, my 22 month old got a hold of it while I was taking haul pics and yeah, she made a little mess of it.  I won’t be able to line my waterline with it now, but it’s OK.  I need the practice filling in my waterline with a brush anyway.  Price $3.99 each, but I got a buy one get 50% the second deal.

We were then off to look around at more low-end cosmetics and we I found Eco-Tools (which was on my list).  I picked up an angled liner brush and a eye shader brush.  Both brushes are synthetic though, but soft and I’ve heard great things about both brushes so I thought I’d give it a try before I go for the MAC equivalent brushes.  I already have the Eco-Tools Powder brush (which is my favorite brush) so why not get more brushes in the same family?? Price $4.99 for each brush.

So, we were off again and I wanted to check out the nail polishes because I’ve been wanting to get my first bottle of China Glaze nail polish and the only color I found interesting within the inventory left was a burn orangey color called “Cruisin”.  It’s a beautiful, sheeny undertone type of burn orange and I love it. *****TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC, BUT I MUST SHARE***I was like I had to get it because today I ordered NARS Blusher in Taj Mahal which is a burnt orange blush and though I have never seen it in real life before, I love it.  I love NYX Cinnamon blush, which is an orange colored blush, but I heard that orange looks great on the cheeks of women of color so I decided to go ahead and order.  I will go more into the story as to why I ordered NARS blusher in Taj Mahal + backup once I get it in the mail.  I’m so excited.****OK NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND****  Plus it’s almost Fall so this color fits the season so I’ll be sporting this polish on the 21st.  Price $6.50.

I wanted to get China Glaze base and top coats, but there wasn’t any. :(  I may have to just order them online.

After I picked up my nail polish, we decided to explore Ulta some more and my best friend eyes got caught upon the cosmetic bags shelf and made my way over to the skincare shelf where the sales where.  I didn’t get much of a sale, but I picked up Cetaphil Facial Cleansar that came with a free squeeze tube of Cetaphil Lotion.  I can’t wait to use it, starting tonight, as I need help with these breakouts I’ve been getting all summer.  I just wish it would stop.  Please excuse the flash off of the Cetaphil bottle in the picture, but it was wrapped in plastic so that’s why the flash bounced off so hard.  Price $9.34

That’s it!  I’m not sure what’s up with my camera today, but it’s actiing crazy.  Here are pics from my first Ulta store haul:

Target & Beauty Supply Haul

Posted by: Sass  :  Category: Beauty Supply, Makeup Hauls, Other

I went to Target today to shop for house and toddler stuff and decided to pick up a makuep remover because the eye makeup remover I have burns my eyes.  So I picked up the Target brand Oil Free Makeup Remover because I was being cheap, but compared the ingredients to the Neutrogena one like the bottle said to do and ummm the ingredients are the same.  So, I picked up the Target brand and I’m about to go and use it because I need to get this makeup off.

I also picked up another eye brush because I needed another one in addition to my MAC 239 because it gets dirty and I get lazy and don’t clean it right way.  The next day I need a clean brush and don’t have one so I got a Sonia Kashuk fluffy eye brush as a backup.  I washed it when I got home, but I didn’t use it yet.  I might use it tomorrow.

I went to the beauty supply store to get relaxer for my 14 year old and while I was there I ran into some belly rings.  Too cute.  I picked up a Betty Boop and Hello Kitty belly rings.  I got my belly pierced on March 1, 2009 and have not removed the original ring and I’m having a hard time trying to get it out.  The screw won’t twist off.  I’m going to have to get Hubby to help me out.  I thought my discharging was over and it’s not, I had some discharge while I was fighting to get it out.  Oh well.  It’s been about six months already and it hasn’t totally healed up yet.  What’s up with me??  Gross.

And now for the pics!

A Beauty Supply Haul

Posted by: Sass  :  Category: Beauty Supply, Makeup Hauls

I love beauty supply stores so when I saw one while walking around with my hubby and daughter at Columbus Farmers Market yesterday I had to go in.  It is a wholesale store call J&M so everything in there was priced cheap.  My total order came to $20. so that was good.

J&M had  lots and lots of CoverGirl, Maybelline, Victoria Secret, Jordana,  L’Oreal, Avon, The Body Shop, Physician’s Formula and Revlon makeup (there were more brands, but I can’t think of any more right now). They also had lots of makeup brushes and other tools.  They had nail polishes of a brand I never heard of and I cannot remember the name.

Earlier in the day I had watched GregoryGorgeous’ new Youtube video re: Skincare and he mentioned St. Ives (but he switched over to Cetaphil) but I grabbed a couple of products anyway because my breakouts are still going on since I switched over from Neutrogena to Clean & Clear.  So yeah, I grabbed St. Ives Elements Olive Scrub (which I tried out already and it left my skin so soft and feeling clean $2.99) and St. Ives Swiss Formula Firming Mask (that I also tried out today and it left my skin amazingly soft - $2.99).

I also grabbed a bottle of Johnson’s Extra Conditioning Baby Shampoo for my brushes ($1.99), a random bottle of top coat for my nails because I needed one ($1.00),  L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Liquid Liner in Carbon Black ($1.99), Secret Deodorant ($2.00) and two Maybelline Unstoppable liners in Espresso and in Onyx.  Hubby picked up some Colgate toothbruhes and something else…I can’t remember.  Here is my beauty supply haul pic.

Half of My Zoya Nail Polish Haul Came in!

Posted by: Sass  :  Category: Beauty Supply, Makeup Hauls, Nail Polish

ArtofBeauty.com had a 3 for free on all of their nail polishes on August 4 to the 6, I believe.  I had put two orders in on the 6 of August so I’m not too sure how long the sale lasted, but I was so happy I got mine in before the midnight deadline.  I found out about this lovely deal through a post on Specktra.com forums.  All I had to do was pay $6.95 for shipping which is fantastic because each nail polish costs about 6 dollars so I basically bought one and to two for free.  I’m am trying to grow my nail polish collection so this was a great deal for me.  I would have put in more orders, but I ran out of money + the husband wouldn’t have been too thrilled because I spend on beauty like crazy so…

The customer service over at Art of Beauty is fantastic.  There was a problem with my credit card being charged (not sure why), but AOB sent me an email several days later telling me to call them to resolve the issue before 5pm or the deal was off.  So, I called them and I was able to remedy the problem.  Problem solved!  They could have just simply canceled my order, but they didn’t.  Wonderul customer service!

To date, I have only received one order last week and here they are.  It was delivered by USPS to my job and it was wrapped in bubble wrap and was sealed in a regular small sized padded, orange envelope.  It also cam with a Zoya brochure listing the names and swatches of all of their nail polishes.  My camera was acting out when I was trying to take pictures of the colors on my nails so it’s a bit blurry.  Colors from left to right in the top pic are:  Creamy (an old time taxi cab yellow and I got this because I saw MissChievous wearing a similar color in one of her Youtube vlogs), Midori (a celadon colored green also with sheeny gold under tone) and Irene (a Pine Cone tree green with a sheeny gold under tone).

I’m loving the quality of these polishes so I’m happy to know that I’ll be receiving my other three very soon.  I wore them for a few days without a top coat and they lasted about three days with no chipping which is very good!
