Sephora, Bare Escentuals and MAC Haul…YAY!

Yesterday after a HUGE New York & Company (50% off everything plus $70 off purchases over $150 – I did major damage) and Disney Store (the family and I are going to DISNEY WORLD for Halloween so I had to pick up a few thing – did major damage here too as I always do) haul, I decided to head on over to my other two places to shop…Sephora and MAC!  Yay!  I picked up some great items.  I’ll start with Bare Escentuals….

I don’t like Bare Escentuals anymore, but I’ve always wanted their eyeshadow in Denim and so I finally bought it.  It’s just a frosty deep royal blue color and I just love it.  I love love love love it.  I didn’t open it to swatch it because I didn’t feel like dealing with minerals everywhere.  I know you all understand that.  Price: $13.00

And here is my MAC haul!  I only picked up two items.  I did a  Back 2 MAC and got an eyeshadow in Cranberry (turned in 6 empty MAC eyeshadow quads – $0).  I was going to get another neutral color, but I have so many already…trying to fill up my palettes with lots of color now.  Lastly, I finally gave in and bought the “ever shedding” (so I’ve heard many times) 109 brush (Price: $32.50).  I’m going to use this brush for the first time today with my new NARS Sheer Matte foundation that is included in my Sephora haul below.

Last, but not least…my Sephora haul!  I asked for my belated b-day gift so I got that.  It’s a Sephora eyeshadow, an eyeliner brush and a mascara.  I haven’t looked into what it is exactly so I can’t say. I also picked up a staple, Urban Decay Primer Potion (Price: $18.00).  I have a tube of Too Faced Shadow Insurance in my collection, but I find that Urban Decay works better for me…those two items are very different to me and I hear folks say a lot that they are equivalent.  I think not!

I also picked up my very first Make Up For Ever item and I bought an eyeshadow in #99 (Price: $19.00).  I had been wanting a red eyeshadow for a long long time and was going to get it from MAC Pro, but I just haven’t been making it over to NYC lately.  I went for MUFE and I am super happy with my only red eyeshadow.  I had to get another NARS blush because I love them so and got Torrid blush (Price: $26.00) which was next on my list to get.  It is a beautiful corally color (not so much brown as Lovejoy), not to shimmery blush…it’s gorge!  I’m running out of MAC Studio Fix Fluid so I decided to give NARS Sheer Matte foundation (Price: $42.00) a try and I got it in the shade “Trinidad”.  If this is not my shade (it was the darkest available) then I’m going to return it for a refund, but I have heard great things about it.

And lastly, I had to get this nail polish I saw on  BeautyChameleon.com while surfing through it called, “Under My Trench Coat” – Sephora by OPI (Price: $9.00).  When I saw the swatch about a month ago I was like I had to get it so I got it.  It reminds me of a brighter Metro Chic with no purple undertones.  I love it.  It’s unique when it comes to my polish collection.

That’s all!!!  Next haul will be massive and it will be from the MAC To The Beach Collection.  I am so looking forward to that collection.

My Labor Day Haul

I apologize for getting this out late, but I’ve been lazy so please forgive me. I went to the mall on Labor Day to get some last minute things for my oldest daughter. She’s in high school now…oh how time flies!

Since I was in the mall I decided to go ahead and stop by MAC. I needed MAC Matte primer anyway because I forgot to pick it up at my CCO (shoot me). I picked up MAC Matte and that Naked Honey Skin Salve multi-use creme.

I also stopped by the Bare Escentuals Boutique and picked up foundation (in Golden Deep – that is my shade) because I am currently running out of foundation and that’s the only foundation I use. I was going to go ahead and try a MAC foundation, but I got nervous about it and went back to Bare Minerals. Maybe when I run out of product I’ll be up for a MAC foundation…we’ll see. The rep gave me a free sample mascara called BareMinerals Flawless Definition Mascara and I have yet to try it out. I will post a review about it with my BareMinerals Matte Foundation review – it’s not a good one.

When I got home I examined my products are usual. The skin salve smells like DAX hair grease. LOL! If you don’t know what that is then Google It. I’m sure you will find some info. I looked up the ingredients and it has beeswax in it so that’s where that smell comes from. The good thing about the salve is that it doesn’t go on greasy and it doesn’t cake. All you need is a little bit to put on dry area any place on your body. I like it. I wish the product was bigger. I think I paid $20 for a small tin. Oh well. I am happy with my purchase anyway.

The BareMinerals mascara has a plastic brush which reminds me of my Rimmel mascara I hate, but I will give it a go and see what happens. I know that Buxom Lash is awesome so I wish they had some samples of that. Ha!

I am done typing so that means pics are next. Here are some pics of my small, Labor Day haul.

Stopped at the Bare Escentuals Store

This past Friday, since I had the day off from work and stopped by the Willowbrook Mall to visit the Disney Store to get toys for my toddler.  Before getting there I stopped into the Bare Escentuals store and took a look at an eyeshadow I’ve been looking at for a while called Denim.  It’s  beautiful, vibrant and highly pigmented, royal blue minearl eyeshadow and I love it.  I didn’t buy it because I had already spent enough money on other stuff, but I just had to go swatch it.

I’m almost out of foundation and I was going to pick one up, but the salesperson there told me about a new foundation that BE is coming out with called, Bare Minerals Matte. The description says, “New Bare Minerals Matt SPF 15 Foundation infused with RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex“.  That sounds all good and everything, but I’ve sampled RareMinerals and didn’t like how it dried out my breakouts and turned them white.  The dry out part is good, but the turning white part isn’t.  So the RareMinerals dries out my breakouts which makes them hard and they hurt even more when I try to squeeze them.  I know I’m not supposed to squeeze my breakouts, but I can’t help!  So there.

This new foundation comes out in about two weeks the salesperson told me.  I’m going to try it out and see what this Matte does for me and to me.  If I don’t like it, I’ll be going back to my regular Bare Minerals Foundation and Bisque.  Here is a picture of the sample pack which comes with a description card and a mini buki brush.  The back of the description card says, “Free Baby Buki Brush brush $15 value with your purchase of Bare Minerals Matte SPF 15 Foundation…“  I hope I like this sample so I can get my baby buki brush! :p
